Lorrette Ayers, LCSW, Ph.D., CCTP

Dr. Lorrette Ayers has extensive experience with helping professionals, including frontline healthcare workers and first responders, addressing compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma and burnout. Dr. Ayers also specializes in the treatment of grief and loss, coping with chronic illness and pain, caregiver support, trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, and life transitions. Dr. Lori's expertise extends to her work with relationships, marriages, couples, individuals, and families.
She utilizes an eclectic approach to her work, including Cognitive Behavioral, Existential and Meaning Centered, Solution Focused, Humanistic and Mindfulness based therapies. She received her Master's degree in Social Work from Fordham University in New York City, a Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University in Maryland and her Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision from Neumann University in Aston, PA.
Lori is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Dr. Ayers holds multiple certifications in trauma informed care as well as the integration of mental health and spirituality. Throughout her career, she has worked in the medical field and in both community and private sectors. Dr. Ayers is affiliated with the American Red Cross as a Disaster Mental Health Manager and has traveled throughout the United States assisting survivors of natural and human caused disasters, and in management and leadership roles in mass casualties.
